Brent Clark
He/Him
Brent is a mixed Northern European settler. He grew up in Saskatoon,Sk. and moved to the unceded Coast Salish territories known as Vancouver in 1994. Through his 23 years of experience as a Community Inclusion Facilitator and bus driver, Brent has an appreciation of some of the mobility challenges faced by differently abled people. When he is not biking, transiting or walking around, he enjoys making music and acting in local productions, and being a dad.
Carlos Martinez
He/Him
Born and raised in Madrid, capital of Spain, Carlos showed from a young age a deep love for outdoor sports, including cycling and mountain biking. In 2017, he relocated to Vancouver with his wife, where he discovered OCB. Transitioning from companies like FootLocker, Inditex, and the Bank of Santander, Carlos left the corporate and management world to pursue his passion for the mountains. He dedicated two years to becoming a mountain sports technician specializing in canyoning, at the same time his passion for bicycles and mechanics, instilled by his grandfather and father, led him to work as a bicycle mechanic for an extended period including his time at Re-Cycling, shop with students programs, workshops and collaborating with Nonprofit Organizations.
DJ Sanghera
He/Him
DJ grew up in northern BC. He recently moved back to BC from London, UK, where he was working in innovation and product strategy. DJ holds a Master’s of Art and a Master’s of Science in Innovation Design Engineering, as well as a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Mechatronics. Many years ago, DJ worked as a bicycle repair technician and also ran classes to teach others how to repair bikes. He’s inspired by how a single invention, like a bicycle, can enable and serve as the catalyst for impact bigger than its core function: empowerment, confidence, joy, community, the shape of cities, physical and mental health, and more.
Elton Battersby
He/Him
Elton is a mixed European settler. He grew up in London, Ontario and has lived in Hong Kong and Salt Lake City. He currently lives in West Vancouver. Elton’s professional background is in corporate and start up businesses, specifically in operations and financing. He volunteers with the Dugout drop in shelter and with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) agency distribution program. Recently he has gotten into bike touring, exploring far flung corners of BC and places further away.
Mike Coyle
He/They
Mike is a settler from South Asian and European ancestry. They grew up in Ontario, and have lived in Ottawa, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz and England. He had previously lived in Vancouver, working at a cycling accessories startup, and moved back in 2019 after working abroad. Mike’s professional background is in leading the technical and creative sides of hardware startups. He has been shifting his work to be more focused on environmental initiatives, including work in zero waste tech and sustainability infrastructure. They believe that bikes are a key element in our fight against climate change. Mike enjoys anything music or art related, particularly events that combine those with cycling.
