Brent Clark
He/Him
Brent is a mixed Northern European settler. He grew up in Saskatoon, Sk. and moved to the unceded Coast Salish territories known as Vancouver in 1994. Through his 23 years of experience as a Community Inclusion Facilitator and bus driver, Brent has an appreciation of some of the mobility challenges faced by differently abled people. When he is not biking, transiting or walking around, he enjoys making music and acting in local productions, and being a dad.
Elton Battersby
He/Him
Elton is a mixed European settler. He grew up in London, Ontario and has lived in Hong Kong and Salt Lake City. He currently lives in West Vancouver. Elton’s professional background is in corporate and start up businesses, specifically in operations and financing. He volunteers with the Dugout drop in shelter and with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) agency distribution program. Recently he has gotten into bike touring, exploring far flung corners of BC and places further away.
Lori (Archie) Archer
They/Them
Formerly involved with Pedal as a staff member in many different roles over the years, Archie’s first summer at OCB was as a Canada summer jobs student. Prior to that they had done training with the sanctuary foundation, a Canadian initiative to partner with Cuba and send bike parts there. They have seen OCB, and Pedal as a whole, change and morph as the people within the organization come and go. Pedal has had to meet the changing demands of the community it serves. Archie hopes to bring their long history with OCB as well as a connection to what it has meant to them as a former staff person to their role as a board member. In their day job they work as an ASL interpreter in schools.
Matt Lonsdale
He/Him
Matt grew up and attended school in Calgary, where he did a little mountain biking and worked at a few universities and City Hall. He bounced around Canada a little bit, spending time in Halifax, Ottawa and Kelowna. It was only after moving to Vancouver eight years ago that he began to appreciate bikes as a form of urban transportation and the potential they offer to make cities more interesting, enjoyable and equitable places to live. Now he wants everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy the happiness and freedom that bikes can bring. He previously worked in IT and now works as a lawyer for a credit union (which he appreciates for its community focus), where he sits on the Pride Inclusivity committee. He lives in East Vancouver with his partner and an assortment of furry four legged roommates.
Mike Coyle
He/They
Mike is a settler from South Asian and European ancestry. They grew up in Ontario, and have lived in Ottawa, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz and England. He had previously lived in Vancouver, working at a cycling accessories startup, and moved back in 2019 after working abroad. Mike’s professional background is in leading the technical and creative sides of hardware startups. He has been shifting his work to be more focused on environmental initiatives, including work in zero waste tech and sustainability infrastructure. They believe that bikes are a key element in our fight against climate change. Mike enjoys anything music or art related, particularly events that combine those with cycling.
