ESG access night
equity seeking genders access night
Tuesdays 6:30-9:30pm
OCB’s ESG Access programming invites anyone in the broad umbrella of equity-seeking genders (ESG) to come be in community and take up space in a field traditionally dominated by cis men. This includes women, trans men, two-spirit, agender, transgender, non-binary, and other people of marginalized genders who have historically been disenfranchised and discouraged from participating in bike culture.
Come wrench on your bike, join a maker event, take a workshop, or simply hang out and make new friends. [:
FOR UPCOMING EVENTS (register on our eventbrite page, drop in also available most weeks)
Since 2009, access nights at Our Community Bikes have sought to make mechanical knowledge more diffuse amongst marginalized communities through peer-based education.
Volunteering

Would you like to volunteer with us to help support our ESG programming? If you think it might be a good fit, we would love to have you give it a try! Volunteering at the shop is an excellent opportunity to learn more about bike mechanics, hone the skills you've already built, and get comfortable in the OCB space. Whether you have a lot, a little, or no mechanical training at all, you're welcome to join us!!
There are plenty of tasks that volunteers help us with, and we are always looking for folks to assist with workshops, facilitate special events (maybe you've got a talent you'd like to share?) and get involved in ways that work for you.
Reach out for more information, or sign up for one of our volunteer orientations.
Our next opportunity to start helping out at ESG night, and getting acquainted with volunteering at OCB is on Tuesday April 22nd.
We acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia. Thank you also to The Hamber Foundation for supporting this program.
